This week in ICM we had to swap classes with another student and re-purpose their class. I worked with Dalit who had a leaf class that used a svg file. I then got inspired from the changing seasons and decided to create a sketch that simulated falling leaves. I used the cosine, Perlin noise, and random functions to achieve somewhat realistic falling leaves in a slight wind. The sketch starts off with three leaves, and every key press adds another leaf up to 40.
The next step I would have liked to take would be to have the mouse repel the leaves and send them sailing across the screen like a strong wind, but I had trouble incorporating acceleration into my program. I would like to revisit this feature in the future however.
