About
I’m Katherine — a product designer and builder focused on designing systems that shape how people discover, connect, and participate.
Most recently, I’ve been working on Club Tracker, a multi-year product exploring how student organizations operate across U.S. high schools and universities. Through real launches, redesigns, and ongoing user research, I’ve studied adoption, engagement, and scale in student communities — from early discovery to long-term participation.
Alongside this work, I’ve designed and prototyped consumer social products, including WAYN, a location-based app that helps friends maintain closeness through small, meaningful gestures, and Kickback, an early-stage social planning startup where I led qualitative research and design synthesis.
Previously, I conducted satellite-driven climate research with NASA, analyzing large-scale environmental data to surface patterns in climate impact and resilience. I’ve also built research-backed tools at hackathons and in academic settings, exploring behavior change, social coordination, and learning motivation.
Across my work, I’m interested in how design systems — technical, social, and behavioral — shape everyday decisions. I care deeply about using design to create products that feel human, intentional, and grounded in real user needs.
Currently based in San Francisco.
